Welcome to our Coptic Orthodox Church community in Liverpool, part of the ancient and apostolic Church founded on the faith of the apostles in the first century. Here you will find a family of God, united in worship, prayer, and fellowship, seeking to live the Gospel together. In the heart of the modern world of the twenty-first century, we continue to preserve and share the authentic Christian faith handed down from the earliest generations of the Church.

Our church is blessed under the patronage of the Most Holy Virgin Mary, the Theotokos, the Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is honoured in the Coptic Orthodox Church as the greatest of the saints and a loving intercessor for the faithful. We also rejoice in the prayers and example of Pope Cyril VI of Alexandria, the 116th Pope of the See of St. Mark, a man of deep humility, prayer, and holiness whose life renewed the spirit of monasticism and devotion in the modern Church. Through the intercessions of the Virgin Mary and the prayers of Pope Cyril VI, we are encouraged to grow in faith, repentance, and love for Christ within the living tradition of the Church.
The Coptic Orthodox Church traces its foundation to St Mark the Evangelist, who came to Egypt and preached the Gospel in the years following the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through his ministry in Alexandria, the apostolic faith was planted and a Church established that continued in the teaching, worship, and life handed down from the holy apostles. From that first century until today, the Coptic Orthodox Church has carefully preserved this apostolic faith and tradition, bearing witness to the earliest Christianity in every generation.
